Not a lot of change for the NZD against the Australian dollar

Written by Sam Coxhead on March 2nd, 2012.      0 comments

4:29 PM (NZT) The pairing remains entrenched in its now very familiar range. With little game changing news in either economy this week, the price action has been decided by natural flow. Yesterdays weaker than expected Australian private capital expenditure numbers did not affect the exchange rate, but should be closely watched going forward. Next week sees both the RBNZ and RBA release monetary policy statements. No change is expected from either at these meetings, but as usual the accompanying comments will be very closely followed. Australian employment numbers come on Thursday afternoon. Expect the recent range to contain next week’s price action.

The current interbank midrate is:                                                            NZDAUD .7760                            AUDNZD 1.2887

The interbank range so far this week to date has been:                 NZDAUD .7745 - .7825             AUDNZD  1.2780 - 1.2912
